If you happen to live in Romania or simple passing through and you’re into Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining or a Bitcoin enthusiast like so many of us are, there are some great news for you. Bitcoin users in this European nation will have the chance to buy Bitcoins at 874 payment terminal located all over the country. As a matter of fact, these kiosks are spread over 160 cities across Rumania.
ATM operator Bitcoin Romania has partnered with Romanian e-payment services company, Zebracoin. This company has been in business since 2009 and is responsible for the operation of the terminals. These machines work only one-way allowing users to buy Bitcoin with the Romanian leu (RON).
The terminals do not require any identification. However, users will be charged a fee of 4% commission on each transaction. ZebraPay’s kiosks utilize the Canadian Bitcoin exchange Cointrader.net to actually buy the Bitcoins with fiat currency. ZebraPay is reportedly thinking about including Bitcoin as a payment choice for additional services that are offered via the terminals some time in the next couple of months. Users just might be able to pay for utility bills, phone bills, internet charges and more.
